Cross-Connection Control Survey - It's That Time Again
Every other year, the Village is required by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency to obtain Cross-Connection Control Surveys completed by each property owner in Orion. A Cross-Connection Control Survey can be found by clicking on the Downloads tab at the top of this page, select General then Water - Cross Connection Control Survey, print a copy, complete, and return to Village Hall. You might have done this before, but it needs to be completed again.
If you do not complete a survey, village employees will come to your door and complete it with you. Your cooperation is appreciated and essential to maintaining compliance.

Another Option for E-Waste
Eagle Enterprises Recycling, Inc. is pleased to announce the opening of an electronics collection site at its facility in Galva. Beginning January 2012, the number of electronic items banned at landfills will be expanded, making it ever more difficult to dispose of those televisions, computer monitors, printers, and the like.
Electronic recyclables cannot be combined with residential recyclables, so DO NOT put electronics in your curbside bin. Electronics can only be disposed of by transporting them to 510 S. E. Industrial Avenue, Galva, during Eagle's business hours of 6:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 7:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. on Saturdays. There is a charge for televisions and computer monitors: screens 27" or less are $5, 28" or more are $10, console t.v.s are $10, and rear projection t.v.s are $20.
Don't Miss Your Chance to Recycle Curbside
Curbside recycling is available to all single family homes in Orion. To obtain a roll-out container, call Eagle Enterprises Recycling at 1.888.932.2936. The company will deliver the container directly to your house. Pick up is every other Thursday. You can find the pickup dates by clicking on our calendar tab at the top of this page or get a copy at Village Hall.
The fee to participate is $3.88 per month and is automatically added to your monthly utility bill.
